Reaction Processes and Advanced Application of Plasma with Liquid
Investigating R&D Committee on Plasma with Liquid
Keyword : Plasma with liquid, Water treatment, Functionalization of water, Gas-liquid interface reaction
Complete decomposition of persistent substances in water is an urgent issue due to the worldwide shortage of water. Water treatment plants conventionally use oxidizer injection or separation and removal of harmful substances. Plasma method only uses harmless gases without additives; therefore the method has an important advantage over conventional ones. Though various types of plasma reactors have been developed, the reactors have not been classified systematically and the phenomena during the plasma-water interaction are not fully understood. This report covers the leading-edge studies of plasma with liquid which are classified into four categories, such as plasma in liquid, in bubble, on liquid surface and in gas.
