The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) was established in 1888 and has 128 years history. IEEJ Industry Applications Society (IEEJ-IAS) was established in 1986 as one of the societies in IEEJ, celebrates 30 years anniversary in 2016 and more than 6,300 members are joining now. The mission of IEEJ-IAS is to contribute to the people of the world through the innovation of electrical engineering technology and the application of the state-of-the-art technology to industry. IEEJ-IAS is proud of wide-ranging activities. IEEJ-IAS provides variety of publications, such as Japanese and English version of the peer reviewed journals, news letters, and website, etc. IEEJ-IAS has set up 14 technical committees (TC) which covers wide range of technical fields from fundamental research to practical industrial/social technology. Technical committee publishes 10-20 technical reports every year based on their research investigation, and holds more than 80 technical workshop and technical forum every year. In the IEEJ-IAS Annual Meeting, more than 1,000 members are attending and exchanging their experiences and exploring their future research and development plan. IEEJ-IAS has held international conferences, such as IPEC, ICEMS, LDIA and SAMCON, and these are co-sponsored with IEEE or academic societies in Asian countries, and then acknowledged as premier conference in the world. IEEJ-IAS is now promoting the internationalization, and working towards the enhancement of service to the overseas members of IEEJ-IAS.
